The Alicante Provincial Council is well aware of the many obstacles facing any citizen when changing place of residence, especially when this involves changing country too. For this reason it has always worked in the interests of both national and foreign residents´ integration in our province.

That is why, our president, Jose Joaquín Ripoll, created a Department dedicated to European residents living in our province in 2003. The work carried out in the European Resident’s Department has proved to be extremely useful for this group of people and the numerous integrationist activities and information campaigns have been well received.

As Councillor of the European Residents Department it is a great pleasure for me to be involved in promoting European residents´ integration. The Department’s projects for this year are extremely ambitious and have been very successful so far. This website has useful information about our activities and publications and we hope it is of interest to you. We also have the “European Resident’s Resource and Information Guide” that contains practical details on more than 14 different topics , like Social Security in Spain, taxes, wills and the local census, etc, which can be requested free of charge.
