Training Programs for Seniors

a) University Studies for Seniors (AUNEX). Universidad Miguel Hernández.
Here older students can come into contact with various cultural experiences through the different subjects offered. These courses are aimed at people over 55.

b) Permanent University. Alicante University.
The aim of the Permanent University is to be a meeting point for people who wish to work on their sociocultural development. These courses are aimed at people over 50.

Official School of Languages

The Official School of Languages is a Specialised Teaching Centre that has a network throughout the whole of Spain. They currently offer classes in eleven languages, including Spanish.
There are several types of course offered: you can follow the official course, take the exam as independent candidate, study via distance learning, or attend their monographic courses or summer courses.

Official approval and recognition of diplomas

If you wish to study in Spain for over six months, in addition to any visas required, you must also apply for a temporary residence permit, which you can do at your nearest Foreigners’ Office, Police Headquarters or Police Station.

If you wish to continue your general education in Spain, the level of education you reached in a foreign country must be validated in a declaration that states the equivalence in the Spanish education system.


Relevant Authorities

Within the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, the Sub-Directorate-General for Diplomas, Recognition and Approval, part of the Technical Secretariat General of the Department, can provide information on the following:
- Recognition of foreign higher education diplomas and qualifications and equivalence in terms of Spanish university degrees and academic levels.
- Partial recognition of university studies.
- Recognition of foreign education systems and their Spanish non-university education equivalents.
- Recognition of qualifications regulated by European Union directives for professional purposes.
- Application Forms.
- Fees.
